ABOUT THE WORK

l am compelled to create art this action is essential to my existence while I am still a corporal being on this planet and not yet returned to stardust. I create stories and myths and then populate them with images of beings or abstract drawings figments of my imagination to satisfy the eternal question present in my mind, "What if I....." This question is my driving motivation. The medium I choose to employ might be traditional photography, photo montage, digital painting, video art or paint to canvas. The medium is not as important to me as is getting my thoughts across and sharing them with the viewer. __Elaine Sigwald

Metamorphosis of an Orb H - 72” x W - 61” Series: Digital Painting I am an artist in search of the universal bonds that connect all sentient beings in the universe. In Metamorphosis of an Orb we are witnessing the ancient, the primal, and the tribal. Where did the idea come from to create objects, dwellings and sacred spaces in the shape of three dimensional orbs or two dimensional circles? Was it from seeing the full moon or the sun? Maybe a raindrop hitting the water and creating circular patterns. Metamorphosis of an Orb is Homage to our collective past. Harking us back to the origins of our terrestrial ancestors and stirring up the universal consciousness stored inside of us all. In this painting we are witnessing a moment in the transition of an object. Is it becoming an orb or is the orb becoming something else. Is this creation or transmutation? It is for the viewer to decide and continue the conversation.
